Can my family do different race types even though the ticket has us all in the same one?

Of course you can. You will be receiving a call or email from us so regarding your family entry so please let us know then if you intend to stay in the same race type or in different ones. Just call Kristin on 03 9816 5746 to discuss if there are any concerns.

Is the event weather dependent?

Safety is our number one priority. There is a wet weather plan in place and the race will be cancelled in extreme weather conditions or if it becomes unsafe. However, being an outdoor event, we do recommend that you check the weather forecast and come prepared for the elements.

Can I run with an iPod or other music device?

While the Memory Walk & Jog team discourages the use of iPods or other personal music devices, we do not impose a ban on wearing headphones on the course.

Can I run/walk with a stroller and prams?

Yes all our tracks are able to handle slim strollers and prams. We recommend that unless you have a stroller designed for jogging, you choose one of the walking options. Please take care as the path narrows in sections.

Can I run with my dog?

Sorry, NO DOGS at any of our events. As much as we love our four-legged friends, dogs create trip hazards. Given the wide age range of our participants, we ask that dogs are not brought inside the event area.

Is there a child minding service for race entrants?

No. Children must be supervised by their parents or a responsible adult at all times. Alzheimer’s Australia VIC does not provide facilities to leave your children whilst the race is underway, or take responsibility for them. You are more than welcome to use strollers on the course or enter your children with you as part of the race (remember, children under five can enter free of charge).

Will medical support be available along the course?

First Aid teams will be located at various points around the course. If you are feeling unwell, please report to the nearest official or medical personnel as soon as possible. If you see any fellow participant in distress, please report the incident to nearest official or a First Aid team member. If it is an emergency, please dial “000” and report the exact location of the incident. Remember: only choose to enter distances that your fitness level can handle, stay hydrated and walk/run at your own pace.

How long will it take me to complete?

The average walker travels at 3.6km per hour, so 2km may take approx. 35mins. Runners will vary depending on the individual.

Will I be timed?

Please check your individual location for more information.
