Where the nation joins together to race against dementia.
What started as a small community event in 2004, now brings together tens of thousands of people each year and is one of Dementia Australia’s biggest fundraising campaigns.
2018 will see 10 or more flagship events across Australia as well as an estimated 50 DIY Memory Walk & Jog events being run in the regions by smaller communities. Individuals nation-wide will also be pledging KMs for their own solo challenge through MY Memory Walk & Jog.
The best thing is, that all of our courses are wheelchair and pram friendly, so it doesn’t matter how old (or young!) you are, or what your fitness level is, there’s always a way for you to be involved. DIY Memory Walk & Jog and MY Memory Walk & Jog also mean it doesn’t matter where you live or what your holiday plans are, you don’t have to miss out on being involved.
Despite growing into a national platform, Memory Walk & Jog is a strong advocate of local support, and in giving back to the communities that support us, so each Memory Walk & Jog event raises funds to help us provide services in its local area. For instance, the Hunter Memory Walk & Jog raises funds specifically for the Hunter Dementia and Memory Resource Centre.
We’re proud to be working with Australians to get active and beat dementia. We look forward to seeing you, your friends and family at a Memory Walk & Jog event this year.
