This DIY Memory Walk and Jog is being organised by the amazing Dementia Australia volunteers, Deborah McLachlan and Tammie Dingle!
Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and there is no cure.
Tammie has worked with people who have had Dementia. She has seen the heartbreak and sadness this terrible disease causes to the individual and their loved ones. Her Nanna had dementia and sadly passed away in 2012. The personal experience is different from a professional experience. Currently, her father-in-law, a wonderful man, is in the later stages of dementia. Supporting Deborah with organising the Toowoomba DIY Memory Walk and Jog is one way Tammie can support her father-in-law and loved ones who are experiencing the journey of dementia. The Toowoomba DIY Memory Walk and Jog is important to our community to raise funds and awareness of dementia and to let the community know together we can support each other.
This DIY Memory Walk and Jog is supported by Home Instead Senior Care, who are committed to supporting Dementia Australia and fostering a dementia friendly community.
Dementia Australia represent the 436,366 Australians living with dementia and the almost 1.5 million Australians involved in their care.
