Dementia Australia aren’t hosting the Memory Walk & Jog in our area — so I’ve decided to create my own.
Steps with Merrilyn is my own personal walk
We’ve walked this path through different seasons of life. Conversations, laughter, quiet moments. And now, even as dementia changes things, walking still connects us.
This isn’t just about steps.
It’s about love that doesn’t disappear.
It’s about honouring the woman who walked beside me long before I could walk on my own.
Dementia is Australia’s leading cause of death, and by 2058, more than 800,000 Australians are expected to be living with dementia. That number is confronting — but connection, support and research give us hope.
Every donation raised will support the incredible work of Dementia Australia — funding counselling, education, support groups and vital research toward a cure.

I’m walking for every family navigating this.
I’m walking so that one day, fewer families will have to.
