What is Memory Walk & Jog?
Memory Walk & Jog brings communities together around Australia - to get active and beat dementia.
Each event is designed to fit with how you prefer to get involved. You can walk, jog, run, volunteer, or even form your own cheer squad! And there’s always a distance to suit you too - guaranteeing you’ll always have a tonne of fun AND help us to create a dementia friendly world.
Can anyone take part?
We want to see the whole community there! That means from the very oldest to the very youngest.
Anyone can benefit from getting active. We all know that exercise is good for our bodies, but it turns out that brain health also improves with regular physical activity. The old saying ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body’ is true!
Our walk courses are dog-friendly too. Remember to register your safe family dog as passes are limited. We’ll give you a bandana they can wear as an official dementia-defeating doggy! Get in quick as dog passes are limited!
Can I fundraise for the event?
The short answer is ‘Yes!’
We’ve made it super quick and easy for you too!
Once you register for your chosen Memory Walk & Jog event, you’ll receive an email with a link to your very own unique fundraising page.
Am I really making a difference by doing Memory Walk & Jog?
From the moment you register for a Memory Walk & Jog, you’re already making a difference. When you choose to fundraise for your event, your impact grows.
Stepping up for the estimated 472,000 people living in Australia with dementia - as well as their families and carers - is a great way to show them that they’re not alone.
And when you tell everyone why you’re taking part - you’re helping to raise awareness of dementia and how devastating a condition it is.
But there is also a practical side to your support. The money that you raise helps to grow Dementia Australia’s services, as more and more people in the community need our help.
We’ve got our eyes on the prize too. Making a better today for people living with dementia is vital, but tomorrow also matters. That’s why your support drives our non-stop research partnerships. Thanks to these seriously talented scientists, we can give family and friends hope that a future without dementia is possible.
