Taking on a MY Memory Walk & Jog for Dad

Wednesday, 13 May 2020

Some of Dementia Australia’s 2020 Memory Walk & Jog events will not take place in the usual way this year. But that’s not stopping the community from continuing to show their support!!

We’re encouraging all Australians to undertake their own Memory Walk & Jogs at a time and place that suits them, and pledge their kilometres to Dementia Australia. Jenna has done exactly that with a 'MY Memory Walk & Jog' around Darwin, and is now encouraging Australians to undertake their own anytime during May, or beyond!

"Dementia has come to play a big part in my life, but my Dad has and always will be a bigger part. He was diagnosed with younger onset dementia in 2015 at the age of 60, and while I want to share his story, I don't want this chapter of his life to be what wholly defines him as a person. He is so much to so many people. He is my hero, my moral compass, my friend and the glue that keeps me and my family together - even if he doesn't even know it! Dementia has changed my family and it's not an easy path to walk, but it has taught me to love just that little bit more." - Jenna

It’s completely free to register for a MY Memory Walk & Jog, so what are you waiting for? Sign up today to show your support for people impacted by dementia during these challenging times.

Dementia Australia advises all participants to follow the latest government regulations around social distancing, which can be found at www.health.gov.au.
