The Canberra Memory Walk & Jog took place on Sunday 24 February. You can see all of the photos from the day in our Facebook photo album and don't forget your fundraising page will stay open until June so you can keep raising money for Dementia Australia! All funds raised will go to services in the ACT.
If you missed the Canberra event, why not get your friends together and hold your own event?
Dementia Australia kick-started the 2019 Memory Walk & Jog season in the nation’s capital on Sunday 24 February 2019.
We returned to the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin at a brand new starting point on Barrine Drive, Canberra.
Fundraisers chose from 2km, 5km or 10km and walked, jogged or ran to help Australia Get Active and Beat Dementia.
Dementia is the condition that will have the greatest social and economic impact of our time. In ACT there are an estimated 5,748 people living with dementia and our services have never been in higher demand.
All funds raised help Dementia Australia to provide vital support services, such as counselling, support groups, education to help family carers and professional training across ACT. These services reduce feelings of isolation and empower people living with dementia and those caring for them. With your help, we can make sure that our support is always available to those who need it.
