Bernie Zeven

Share my fundraising effort with your network and let's beat dementia, together.

Help me raise money in honour of my Brother, Michael John Zeven, who has Alzheimers and down syndrome and for all present and future people with Down syndrome that will face this heartbreaking disease.

On Sunday, 4 May, I'm taking part in Geelong's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Please make a donation to support my efforts and help us reach our goal to beat dementia.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's second-leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

Together we can achieve a lot. Your donation would mean the world to me.

Thanks for your support!

I'm only $39.26 away from becoming a Silver Level Fundraiser. Will you help get me there?

My Updates

joy followed by saddness

I went and saw Mick today, he had just woken up and therefore i was lucky to get a smile and little laugh. I'm hoping he knew it was me, he let me give him a hug, gave me a quick nod when i said my name. I alway try t make my visits around lunchtime so i can feed him. I like to feed him, he opens his mouth and slightly put out his tongue so i know when he is ready for the next spoonful. After the last seizure he can now only move his head and open his mouth.  Eating seems to be like an automatic action, but he does love sweets. He squaks while his incontinence pad is changed,he is bed ribben so he rolled from side to side to change him.  He is ready for sleep again luckily today he only cries for 5 mins before falling asleep. I miss old Mick so much, however im grateful for the 5 mins of happy Mick.

Thank you to my sponsors
