I'm raising money for my Grandfather, Wiremu Taiharuru Jerry and the 433,300 Australians living with dementia.
On Sunday, 21 June, I'm taking part in Perth's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.
All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

"Kia ora Georgia, my Gran passed away in 2024 with Dementia. It was the hardest time for my whanau living with her through it too. We moved her to Aus from NZ in 2023 with us after we went back to Gizzy for our first visit all together after 10 years of living in NSW. We found out during this visit she had lost her memory quicker than expected. She didnt really remember me or my 3 younger siblings. She remembered my older siblings a bit better & she remembered her son, my Dad. Her name is Elaine Morrell & i’m named after her Mum, my Great Grandmother Tuaraki Teamokura Morrell. It was the hardest year of our lives living with eachother & with her through this sickness. I wish I could have lived those days better by her. I miss her every time I think about her. I wish I could hear her stories again & pay more attention, listen to her play the guitar & sing, listen to her & my Dad growl each other. Arohanui, run hard for your Koro"
