Fundraising to help my wife, Jody, and others to live well with young onset dementia
My beautiful wife, Jody, was diagnosed with young onset alzheimers disease last year. It's been utterly devastating for both of us.
There is currently no cure and the progressive nature of the condition robs us bit by bit of her kind and loving self. Jody's positivity and desire to have a good life constantly amazes me. We still do fun stuff, like going to gigs, socialising with friends, and laughing everyday despite the challenges.
I really don't know how we would have coped without the wonderful support of Dementia Australia. They have been an immeasurable practical and emotional support. They are helping us to ensure Jody can lead a good life for as long as possible.
On Saturday, 6 June, we are taking part in Redcliffe's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to help dementia Australia continue to support those like us impacted by this heartbreaking condition.
This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.
All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.
