Share my fundraising effort with your network and let's beat dementia, together.

Help me raise money in honour of my My Family, and the 421,000 Australians living with dementia.

On Saturday, 3 May, I'm taking part in Bendigo's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Please make a donation to support my efforts and help us reach our goal to beat dementia.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's second-leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

Together we can achieve a lot. Your donation would mean the world to me.

Thanks for your support!

My Updates

This is my Mum, Anne

This is my Mum, Anne. Mum died with cancer in 2020 but there were signs that she was beginning to experience symptoms of Dementia. Mum knew, she was the one asking, 'so, how does it work if only one of you needs to go into care?' Our trip to China also highlighted changes. So I am adding Mum too, Mum, was also an RMH RN, staff year 1966, she was always there when you needed her. Adventurer, determined, blunt, or maybe direct, she was kind, compassionate, funny, brave, scary, a best friend, sister, daughter, wife, mother, person, you could ask for.
We are walking on Saturday, thanks to those who have generously donated, Dementia Australia are an invaluable service and the funds we raise help them continue their work.
I am $150 away from Silver Warrior status - no pun intended

This is My Uncle Tony

This is my Uncle Tony, Mum's big brother. When I think of Tony, I think of Adelaide, where he lived when I was a kid, I think of music and books and animals, his fluffy dog Wimpy, then Bomber and Chops, of golf, of baseball and of course Essendon football club. I think of their big American trip and him being the only person who called my brother, Jack. He has his girls, my cousins, Ellisa Mcintosh, Shelley Hayward-Boyd their husbands and families, who care for him He also is living with Dementia in a care facility. We are walking for him

My Aunty Bet

This is my Aunty Bet, though everyone knows her as Liz. She was also a Royal Melbourne Nurse, and she nursed her whole life. Traveller, adventurer, trailblazer. Pragmatic. She was great at many sports I mostly remember tennis, quick witted, super smart, the life of the party, glamorous, gorgeous, independent, reliable, loving, generous. A daughter, a sister an aunt, a Godmother, a wife, a stepmother. She is still all those things, she just can't remember how awesome she is. She is 80 now and lives with Dementia in care. I'm also walking for her x

This is my Grandma Jean

This is my Grandma Jean, she was many things in her life, a Lieutenant in the Australian Army as a Registered Nurse during WW2, then a mother of 6, went back to nursing in her 50's to work with her eldest daughter, my main memories are of her in her garden, in the pool, her downstairs kitchen, and the love she had for her slightly evil Siamese cats. She was the first person I knew, living with dementia. Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you to my sponsors
