We're doing the Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds for the 433,300 Australian's living with dementia.
Team ACVVS S.A are proud to be taking part in the 2026 Memory Walk & Jog in support of Dementia Australia. Our team is made up of Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Coordinators and people connected to organisations that proudly support the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).
The ACVVS is a federally funded program supported by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. The program connects caring volunteers with older people living in residential aged care or in their own homes who may be experiencing social isolation. Through regular visits, volunteers provide companionship, meaningful conversation and social connection, helping improve wellbeing and quality of life.
Through our work, we see firsthand the impact dementia has on individuals, families and communities. Many of our volunteers visit with older people who are living with dementia, offering consistent, friendly support that can make a genuine difference.
As a team, we’re fundraising to raise awareness and support the vital work of Dementia Australia, helping to provide essential services such as counselling, support groups, education and research, while also working towards a future where dementia can be prevented, treated and ultimately cured.
