My target 100kms

28/5/20 - 26th walk

Well today is the day that my 4 week challenge comes to an end!

Today I walked another 3kms taking my total amount of kms walked to 120💪🏻

My goal was to walk 100kms in 4 weeks and I achieved that and more 🏃‍♀️ 

My other goal was to raise $500 and I raised a whopping $840😱

A huge thankyou  from the bottom of my heart to everyone who encouraged me, supported me, believed in me and donated towards my fundraiser❤️

$819 has now been raised for Dementia Australia who will use the money for research and to provide support for those who suffer with dementia and their loved ones.

I’m so proud of myself for achieving my goal and so grateful for everyone that came along on this journey with me❤️

27/5/20 - 25th Walk

Today was another  busy day. I didn’t get a chance to go for a walk outside before it got dark so I went for a 40 minute walk on my treadmill 🏃‍♀️ 
When I walk outside for 40 minutes, I usually do around 3.2kms but on the treadmill I only did 2kms and I felt like I was walking at the same pace🤔
So maybe my Fitbit doesn’t pick up my movement on the treadmill aswell as it does outside. 

But anyway, it’s another 2kms added to my total amount of kms walked👍🏻

I have now walked  117kms!

Tomorrow is my last day to add some extra kms to my total and I definilty will💪🏻


Today I didn’t get a chance to go for a walk unfortunately as I had work and then I spent a few hours making mousse cups, cupcakes and pavlovas for my mums work as she is having a dessert day tomorrow to help raise money for this fundraiser☺️

So no walk but my time was definitly well spent👍🏻

11km was added automatically to my total amount of kms walked from my general walking yesterday. 

25/5/20 - 24th Walk

Today was a jam packed day but I still managed to add another 3.24km to my total amount of kms walked 🏃‍♀️ 

I have 3 more days left of my 28 day challenge to see how many kms I can do. I’ve walked over 100 now💪🏻💪🏻

24/5/20 - 23rd Walk

Well everyone, today was the day that I hit 100kms!!🎉🎉🎉

This afternoon I did a 3km walk which brought my total amount of kms walked to 100 exactly💪🏻

I’m so proud of myself was sticking to my goal and achieving it and with the love and support from some very special people, I have also raised almost $700 for Dementia Australia❤️

I still have 4 days left of my 4 week challenge so I will still be walking and adding as many kms to my total as I can by Thursday 28th 🏃‍♀️ 

23/5/20 - 22nd Walk

I am currently in Wallaroo for the weekend so today I went for a lovely walk along the beach adding another 3.26km to my total amount of kms walked 🏃‍♀️ 
I am now so close to my goal, I can smell it  💪🏻
5 days to go and almost $700 has been raised! An incredible effort by all❤️


Today I was unfortunately unable to complete a walk due to the weather and not being home so I couldn’t use the treadmill. 
I drove to Wallaroo today and will be here for the weekend☺️
But unfortunately all day it rained, rained and rained some more👎🏻

Tomorrow is meant to be a lot clearer so I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to go out for a walk 🏃‍♀️ 

7km was still added to my total amount of kms walked automatically from my general walking.

21/5/20 - 21st Walk

Today I wasn’t able to drive anywhere to go for a walk as my car was at a mechanic for the day so today’s walk was to my nana and grandpas house. 
I walked from munno Para west to Craigmore adding another 5.9kms to my total amount of kms walked💪🏻💪🏻

I have now walked 87kms! I’m so close to reaching my goal of 100kms in 4 weeks.

And thanks to all of the incredible people that have donated, I have raised $600! 
What an amazing effort❤️ 

I still have 1 week left so I will continue walking as much as I can and hopefully with the help of you all, I will be able to raise even more money for dementia Australia❤️

20/5/20 - 20th Walk

Today’s walk was 6.01kms in total and split over 2 walks. 
In the morning, I went for a 3.04 km walk along the shore at semaphore. It was absolutely freezing🥶 and to make it worse, it started raining so I had to turn back. 

My second walk was in the afternoon and was  2.97km.  I had my grandpas dog as a walking buddy this time 🐶 

19/5/20 - 19th Walk

Today’s walk was around my neighbourhood, adding another 3.1kms to my total number of kms walked🏃‍♀️
That means I’m over 3/4 of the way to reaching my goal of 100kms💪🏻💪🏻

I’m so proud of myself for what I’ve achieved and so grateful for the support I’ve received. 

Dementia is the second leading cause of death of Australians and one of the people that were affected was my beautiful Nana. I watched her life be taken away from her and there was nothing we could do. 

There is currently no cure for dementia however, some medications have been found to help reduce some symptoms.

18/5/20 - 18th walk

Back to work today😴
I hope everyone had a happy Monday ☀️ 

This afternoon I went for a nice walk around my neighbourhood. I’ve found a new route that I love to follow👌🏻
I was able to add another 3.06km to my total number of kms walked which means I now have less than 30kms to go!💪🏻

Thankyou to everyone who has donated, supported me and shown me their love. First of all by raising $250, i was able to become a bronze dementia warrior but now that I have raised a total of over $500, I have become a silver dementia warrior and will be receiving a dementia warrior T-shirt! 
I’m really hoping it doesn’t take too long to arrive so I have the chance to wear it whilst I do my last few walks 🏃‍♀️ 

17/5/20 - 17th walk

Today was a busy day. I did some sight seeing in Cape Jervis, Rapid Bay and Waitpinga. I didn’t get a chance to record one big walk however, over the course of the day, I walked a total of 5kms which brings my total number of kms walked to 69💪🏻💪🏻 
Only 31kms to go and 11 days left to walk them in.

16/5/20 - 16th walk

Today a friend and I headed to Victor Harbour to go camping for the weekend 🏕 
After setting up our tent we headed to Granite Island and walked the entire loop around the island, adding 3.85km to my total kms walked. 

12 days left of my challenge! I’m feeling confident that I will definilty reach my goal of walking 100kms💪🏻 And with the help of you all, I’m sure I will be able to raise even more money for this wonderful organisation. 

15/5/20 - 15th walk

Today after work, I stopped at Cobbler Creek recreation park again for another walk in the wilderness. Today’s walk was a little shorter, adding 2.65km to my total amount of kms walked. I took a different path than yesterday and it was just as enjoyable😊 Getting slightly lost again but finding my way back. Getting lost adds to the adventure😂
The weather was perfect👌🏻

Time to head home and pack as I am off camping this weekend! 🏕 

14/5/20 - 14th walk

Today after work I stopped at cobbler creek recreation park and went for a 3.4km walk 🏃‍♀️ 
I love this park because of the quiet surroundings. When walking, all you can hear is the wind blowing, sounds of nature and the sound of your own footsteps. 

At one point I did get a little lost but I just kept following the tracks and eventually found my way back to the car😂

After today’s walk, I have now walked almost 60kms💪🏻 
At this rate, I’m definitly on target to hitting my 100km goal. I have 2 weeks left to walk 40kms. 
I can do this💪🏻 

13/5/20 - 13th walk

Hey everyone 👋🏻 
Today’s neighbourhood walk was lovely but boy oh boy is it getting fresh! 
I think winter is coming early🥶
The walk I did today was 3.1km which takes my total number of kms walked to to 54km!
If I keep walking at the rate I am now, I’ll smash out the 100km within 4 weeks for sure💪🏻 I am almost half way through the challenge. 
What a busy 2 weeks it’s been! 

12/5/20 - 12th walk

Today I really had no energy after work. I just wanted to lay down and have a nice snooze😴 But I’ve been making such great progress so missing my walk today wasn’t an option for me. I searched down to find that little bit of energy that I needed and I did a 3.21km walk😊
Taking my total of kms walked to just over 50km which means I am half to reach my goal💪🏻💪🏻
I’m so proud of myself for pushing myself to strive to do the best that I possibly can💜

11/5/20 - 11th walk

Back at work today for another busy week which means my walks won’t be as interesting or as long but I’ll do my best to do as many kms as I possibly can 🏃‍♀️ 

Today’s walk was around my neighbourhood, adding another 3.08kms to my total💪🏻
I walked a little later today meaning I got to watch the beautiful sunset the entire way 🌅 

10/5/20 - 10th Walk

Today was a day of celebrating not only Mother’s Day but my beautiful Nana’s 73rd birthday💜 
We went to semaphore for lunch, sang happy birthday and released some balloons for her❤️
Spent the afternoon relaxing and I made her favourite dessert, pavlova. 
We then had a wonderful family roast dinner to end the day❤️

The walk I did today was just around my neighbourhood. Adding another 3.29kms to my total kms walked. 

That’s 45km down!💪🏻 I’m almost half way there already. 

9/5/20 - 9th walk

Today I didn’t do an exciting walk, just went for an hour around my neighbourhood 🏃‍♀️ 
 Checking out a new area that I hadn’t walked through yet, adding another 4.62kms to my total💪🏻 

Time to make some pavlovas and get prepped for Mother’s Day 🌹 💐 🌷 

8/5/20 - 8th walk

Today I had no energy in the morning to go for a walk so I stayed in my Pj’s all day, watched some movies and then headed out in the afternoon 🏃‍♀️ 
Today I walked the Smith Creek trail which starts near the dog park in Andrews farm and ends at the Smithfield train station. I did a return loop which added another 6.65kms to my total kms walked💪🏻 

I’ve walked just over 37kms 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ 
1 week down. 3 to go. 

7/5/20 - 7th walk

Today I headed to west lakes and walked a 6.8km circuit around the lake. I was dressed for cold weather but the sun had other plans. At least I worked up a good sweat🥵

Another huge Thankyou to everyone that donated yesterday💜 After changing my fundraising goal last night from $250 - $500, I was amazed to wake up this morning and see that I had already reached $464! 
I am truly grateful for the support and generosity💜

And for those that don’t know, I have been so inspired by you all to challenge myself even further and have now changed my goal from 50kms to 100kms in 4 weeks! 🏃‍♀️ 

6/5/20 - 6th walk

Today was my day off from work so I thought I’d take myself on a long drive and head down south. 
I parked my car in Christies Beach and walked to Noarlunga, Southport Beach and then back. 
The coastline was so beautiful. 

Today’s walk was 6.93kms 🏃‍♀️ 

I have just changed my goal from walking  50kms in 4 weeks to 100kms in 4 weeks. 
This will be a big challenge for me but one that I am determined to beat!!💪🏻💪🏻

5/5/20 - 5th walk

I’m 5 days into my challenge and have just completed my 5th walk👍🏻
Today was a busy and I didn’t get a chance to do an outdoor walk while there was still some sunlight so I had to resort to the treadmill. 
I usually avoid the treadmill if I can because I much prefer to walk outdoors in the fresh air. 
To keep me motivated, I watched Geordie shore whilst I walked and before I knew it, an hour had passed.

4/5/20 - 4th walk

Today after work I went  for anoher walk around my neighbourhood . Trying a new route this time. 
Had a nice breeze and the sun was slowly starting to set 🌅 
That’s another  2.96km down💪🏻

3/5/20 - 3rd walk

Today I went for a beautiful scenic ocean walk from West Beach to Glenelg and back, smashing out another 6.37km💪🏻
The weather was perfect. I had a nice cool breeze the whole time 💨 
Nana always loved driving by the ocean but never actually liked swimming in it 🏊‍♀️ 

2/5/20 - 2nd walk

Today I completed another short walk around my neighbourhood. Was a slightly different route compared to yesterday. 
The weather was lovely.

1/5/20 - 1st Walk

Today is the 1st of May and my challenge to walk 50kms in 4 weeks has begun! 🏃‍♀️
After work, I completed a 2.2km walk around my neighbourhood. Just got home  in time before the rain hit 🌧 

Every time I complete a walk I will be wearing my dolphin pendant that has some of my nana’s ashes in it. So to her disgust, she will be smashing these 50kms out with me😂❤️

I’m doing a MY Memory Walk & Jog for my Nana Yvonne and to raise funds for people with dementia!

I’ll be completing a MY Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support people with dementia.

I have set myself the challenge of walking 100kms within 4 weeks starting May 1st. 

My beautiful Nana suffered slowly for many years and she is now no longer with us in person. I can no longer feel her touch or hear her voice but I know she is still with me and she would be so proud of me for doing this❤️

Any donation to support my efforts and help me reach my goal to beat dementia will be greatly appreciated. Big or small. It all helps❤️

All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education and training.
