Share my fundraising effort with your network and let's beat dementia, together.

I'm raising money for my Dad, Michael Gunther and the 433,300 Australians living with dementia.

On Sunday, 22 March, I'm taking part in Illawarra's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Please make a donation to support my efforts and help us reach our goal to beat dementia.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

Together we can achieve a lot. Your donation would mean the world to me.

Thanks for your support!

I'm on my way to becoming a Platinum Level Fundraiser. Can you support me with a small donation?

My Updates

In memory of my Dad

Hi all, Our family is coming together on the 22nd of March to walk in memory of my Dad who passed away last year from dementia. But, we are not only walking for my Dad, we are also walking for all who currently have dementia and for all those we have lost over the years.
As a family we did not know my dad had dementia until he had several falls and ended up in hospital having extensive tests. For us it was a massive shock, the man who always was so sharp, still working and enjoying his morning walks was no longer the same man.
Dad was transferred to a nursing home which became his home. He was no longer able to walk, for the man who loved his morning walks daily they had now become something of the past.
For mum she has her own story as to how she now had to change the way she lived and cared for dad, that story is for another day. But i just wanted you to know that it does not just affect the person with dementia but for all around them.
I want to do this walk with my family as a way of remembering my dad and hopefully having that moment we can all say goodbye together.

Thank you to my sponsors
