Roy Eagle

Share my fundraising effort with your network and let's beat dementia, together.

I'm raising money for my Wife, Helen and the 433,300 Australians living with dementia.

On Sunday, 1 March, I'm taking part in Cronulla's Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds to support Australians impacted by dementia. This is a cause close to my heart and I would love your support.

Please make a donation to support my efforts and help us reach our goal to beat dementia.

Not many people know, but dementia is Australia's leading cause of death. By 2058 it's expected that over 800,000 Australians will have dementia. But we can change this.

All money I raise will support the work of Dementia Australia and help provide vital support services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to help find a cure.

Together we can achieve a lot. Your donation would mean the world to me.

Thanks for your support!

My Updates

Not many sleeps to go to March 1!

Sunday week (March 1) is the day we converge on Cronulla again for the annual MW&J fundraiser for Dementia Australia.  Hopefully it will be a little cooler than last year, however, we will walk very tall feeling the love and support of those who have so generously donated to this important cause.
Dementia Australia have helped Helen and I throughout the year with their counselling, coaching and education offerings, for which I am very grateful.  Their ongoing availability is important, not only to me, but to many who are on this particular journey.  Money raised through events like the MW&J help them to help more and more people each day, week and year.  The ongoing support for researchers also gives hope to those who may require help, some of whom may not even know it yet.
If you haven't yet, we'd sure appreciate anything you may be able to offer or even to share the link with people you know who may be interested in the cause.
I know Helen would want me to thank you all for your generous support, and that she would be feeling very humble to know that so many people cared so much for her. I know I feel the same way, and I thank you all so very much.
Now, where did I put those walking shoes......

The Countdown Continues

The stretching is going well so far, no damage yet.  It is getting closer by the week. I'm glad it will be a less taxing event than the other minor sporting event of that upcoming weekend - the start of the NRL.  I'm pretty sure we will report less injuries that them.....and we wont need the ice bath.
The donations from all have been very welcome and well received.  My personal target is well within sight and just needs a few dollars more to be achieved. The team total looks likely to exceed last years total, and that is very heartening indeed.  The more we can raise, the greater the support that Dementia Australia can provide to those in need, and the more research that they can fund.
In the meantime,  I'll keep stretching that hammy before the event....

Getting close....

Not long now,  might have to start stretching soon....😆 (5 weeks ought to be enough time.)  It's also enough time to add to the tally if you have a mind to do so.  Every little bit helps to keep the researchers going,  so please jump on board if you can.
In the meantime,  I'll try not to do a hammy before the event... that would make for an uncomfortable walk!

six weeks to go

Only six weeks to go until the Annual Memory Jog and Walk, and we are up again for the challenge. Helen and I, along with Scarlett, will be doing the 3 klm walk, whilst Charley, Corey, Connor and Joseph will brave the 9klm run. The Clena's have jumped on board again and will be walking with us too, for which I am very grateful.
All to raise funds to help support the ongoing research efforts to end this horrible group of diseases.  We were able last year to raise over $3K and I was blown away by your generosity, and the love shown to my magnificent Helen. If we could come close to that again this year that would be amazing.  The funding to keep those clever people working on the problems is so important, and so, so appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Helen's Helpers

Hi All, we're walking again for the dementia walk and jog fundraiser on March 1, 2026 at Cronulla.  Thanks so much for your generosity last year.  We hope you can manage a contribution again this year.  It is a cause very close to my heart, and we appreciate any support that comes Helen's way.

Thank you to my sponsors
