Fundraising
Tips

We know fundraising can seem a bit daunting but we are here with you every step of the way!

The money you raise will provide vital support services to people living with dementia, their families and carers as well as fund vital research where talented scientists can work towards a possible future without dementia.

To get those dementia beating dollars rolling in, we have created six tips to help you get started and smash your fundraising target!

To help you spread the word about your fundraising we have also created an amazing fundraising toolkit which includes: editable posters, social media images, banners and much more!

1. #Selfie time

Time to bring out the camera and release your inner photographer. Fundraising pages with pictures on them have shown to raise more money than those who don’t. Perfect excuse for a #selfie.

2. Set a target

Set yourself a fundraising target! Show your supporters you have a goal for your fundraising. If you are getting close your target, increase it! Aim high and smash your goal!

3. Pave the way

Pave the way by being the first to donate to your fundraising page. This will encourage others to donate to your page and show how important and committed to the cause you are.

4. Tell everyone!

Reach out to your network for support.  Share your fundraising page on social media. Send an email to your friends, family and colleagues. The more you share the more likely you are to receive donations! If people are unable to donate ask them to share your page on their social networks to reach more people!

5. Share your story and passion

Your supporters want to feel connected and share your passion. So why not inspire them by letting them know why this cause is close to your heart by sharing your story.

6. Get your work involved

Ask your employer to dollar match employee donations! If they cannot do this, ask if they are happy for you to put posters around the office about your fundraising efforts.
