Regis Aged Care Mildura – Mildura Community Sponsor 2020

Tuesday, 25 February 2020

Here at Regis we understand Dementia and the heavy toll it takes on the individual, their families and the nation. Most of us know of someone impacted whether directly or indirectly, yet many people don’t know much about Dementia or how to support those going through it.

Caring for someone with Dementia takes compassion, patience and care. At Regis it is the collective day-to-day focus of various care teams on our residents and their individual needs that achieves this. Each of our valued employees, from the Care, Lifestyle, Catering, Maintenance, Allied Health or Housekeeping teams (to name a few), plays a vital role in the support of our Dementia care residents.

The goal of Regis and our employees is to achieve the best possible wellbeing and care outcomes for our residents. Our Dementia Care Units provide targeted services, highly trained staff and specialised facilities to support residents with early to advanced stages of Dementia, while our leading innovations and initiatives support our provision of quality care. Whether it be utilising PARO (therapeutic seal), Art Therapy or Music Memories therapy, or applying the Regis ‘Knowing is Caring’ principles to tap into strategies best suited to each individuals needs, Regis provides the compassion, patience and care necessary for supporting a loved one with Dementia.

Regis firmly believes that partnering with Dementia Australia is one way we can help further the Dementia cause by raising critical awareness and much needed funds for research and education, while being at the forefront of Dementia care delivery. It firmly aligns with our many Dementia-specific initiatives and allows us the time to recognise the exceptional work done every day by our team members in the valuable support of our residents and clients.

We understand that by raising awareness and much needed funding Dementia Australia will be able to continue their valuable work in the provision of support services around Australia to people impacted by Dementia. This will also facilitate much needed research, education, and information to the aged care sector. Not only do we see this as a fantastic and relevant initiative for our employees to participate in, we see it as a valuable way for our residents and families, and the greater community, to engage with Dementia care and support.

Regis is proud of our focus on Dementia and we look forward to seeing increased awareness and acceptance in the national community.
