We're doing the Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog to raise funds in honour of our Mum, Bev Woollard and for the 400,000 Australian's living with dementia.
On Sunday, 24 March, we’ll be joining the Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog to show our love and help Dementia Australia.
Our Mum Bev is now living with dementia. She was diagnosed 4 years ago and continues to battle through each day. She is a wife of 57 years, a Mother, a Nanna and a Great Nanna. She is an Auntie, a Godmother and a friend. An amazing, caring, funny and beautiful lady who now has to live the rest of her life being taken away by dementia. This hideous disease takes EVERYTHING from the person you love. It is painful and heartbreaking to watch/go through and affects every single member of your family.
It can happen to anyone too. Your Mum, your Dad, your partner/spouse, your sister/brother and even your child.
So we continue to walk each year to help raise money to support not only all the people living with dementia but for their families too and towards vital support services and research to beat this debilitating disease.
And we need your support!
Did you know that 1.5 million carers, family members and friends are involved in the care of someone living with dementia in Australia. That's why we're hoping to raise as much money as possible. We'll be walking, jogging, and running to stop dementia in its tracks.
We'd love you to join us on the day, but if you can't, a generous donation will help provide vital services like counselling, support groups, education, and research to find a cure.
