Share my fundraising effort with your network and let's beat dementia, together.

Help me raise money in honour of my Dad, Brendan Lee and the 400,000 Australian’s living with dementia.

On Sunday, 5 May, I'm taking part in Melbourne Memory Walk & Jog 10km run to raise funds to support Australian's impacted by dementia.

For those unaware, in 2022 I said goodbye to my father. Dad was diagnosed with dementia back in 2019. Slowly those who knew him watched the independence, character and personality of the man we loved disappear, until finally this horrible disease won the battle and we farewelled the man we loved.

While the battle was lost, we haven't given up on the war against dementia. Just like last year, I will be taking part in the 2024 installment of the Dementia Australia Memory Walk & Jog and I am imploring anyone who reads this, to help out and donate even the cost of a coffee to the charity.

Dementia Australia through fundraising efforts like the MW&J provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education, training and support of vital research.

Some fast facts about Dementia...

1. Dementia is the second leading cause of death for all Australians.

2. Dementia is the leading cause of death for women.

3. In 2024 it is estimated there are almost 29,000 people living with younger onset dementia, expected to rise to almost 41,000 people by 2054. This can include people in their 30’s 40’s and 50’s.
